The Nomata Minoru stuff reminds me a lot of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, wouldn't be surprised if they got their inspiration from that.

As I understand they got their inspiration from artist Giorgio De Chirico. at least for the box art.

I'm surprised nobody have brought up this brutalist gem from Carl Barks and Don Rosa's stories about Scrooge McDuck.
![]() The Money Bin on Killmotor Hill. A 40x40x40 meter concrete building, reinforced with Impossibilium plates and Gearloosium alloys (held together by wrought-iron nails to save cost). It's ten stories tall, and is housing the residence of Scrooge McDuck, as well as serving as his principal office and headquarters. The building also contains the monetary part of his fortune as well as McDuck's trophies from years of treasure hunting. ![]() Italian comics (and later, the popular DuckTales TV series) added a cupola to the bin. Seeing as the Donaldverse canon is VERY loose, this doesn't have to be explained away, but a possible explanation could be that the Italian series are set in a later time period than the Barksist-Rosaist stories. The cupola often contains the giant money pumping system required to fill/empty the bin (which happens more often than one might think), as well as anti-witch aerial defenses.

Funny thing is that 99% of those images are predicting cities with only one architectural style. Like, everything is cubes, bubbles, spires or tall monotone buildings, etc. Real life will always be so much more diverse with a mix of everything.
Though, it would be awesome to see a whole city in a particular modern architectural style. Like old villages with all the same little houses with red roofs for example. But I guess that was because building techniques were limited back then... Now there is just so much possible.
