I have always wondered, who/which company is the management of Puduraya? Do they have anything to do with the development of Plaza Rakyat? or affecting its progress?

Thanks for all the info !

Actually, they should just draw up another plan for a new bus terminal and a new shoopping centre to ease the traffice jam, no grand project. It can be done in 3 years or less. Just hope that something is done, its an eyesore at the moment.

Why not scale down the development if money is really the issue. That area doesn't need a skyscraper. Put all the skyscrapers within golden triangle.

ah, yes...and here's a question...if this "Integrated Transit Terminal" is built at Bandar Tasik Selatan (and a second at Gombak LRT)....

WILL it lead to the end of Puduraya?

Or will buses simply start in Puduraya, then make passengers wait while picking up more passengers at BTS?

Or even worse, start in Gombak, head down to Puduraya, then BTS

Even the Metrobus coaches that start in USJ head down to Puduraya as well

Build the bus terminal at Plaza Rakyat, forget about all the rest of the project for now....and get the express buses out of Puduraya and move them to Plaza Rakyat...and move the metrobus city buses into Puduraya (slowly and giving them time for renovations)

...and any metrobus driver that spends more than 5 minutes stopped on a roadway in KL....should be fined...hell, a few strokes with the rotan too

Just joking...but seriously, getting the metrobuses moving...would make a serious serious difference for traffic in the city centre of KL....

Cheers, m

metrobuses are like scar for KL. the drivers' behavior is something typical malaysian. their honk really unpleasant to hear. they make KL turn back time into 80's when Bus Mini was around...

Agree with you. All the bus drivers from Metrobus should go for retraining and I would urge traffic police to keep special attention on them.

No, they shld just rid that area of any bus terminal altogether..the buses in that area just contribute to congestion on the roads. Once pudu raya goes and the buses are off the road in that area, and if (a big if) plaza rakyat gets completed, it could start the beginning of the extension of the bukit bintang shopping belt to that area..wow just imagine!

Read from Oriental Daily yesterday, DBKL will take back the land from the current developer by end of May

Good news.....since for now, it has long been on-hold.......so, what would DBKL do with the land? Perhaps ask another developer to finish the job?

Yeah, according to the news report, most likely the project will be taken over by another quality developer as the current developer fails to meet the deadline and their contract with DBKL will end by May 2007.

i know it could be in financial problem, but does the current developer gets penalized? a fine perhaps for not doing its job?

i agree with glenj that the place should get rid of bus terminal altogether. if plaza rakyat is to be continued, i hope they reconsider building a bus terminal there. a bus transit perhaps, but definitely nothing like puduraya at the moment.

kl sentral, if there's still space, should be the point of convergence for public transportation. somewhere out of kl downtown, definitely.

Hehe.....i prefer the taller version, but if they can build the glass ball design more than 400 metres.......that would be great!
