see at the link: http://www.meed.com/news/2008/05/mil..._up_short.html

This tower could be easy the biggest in the world!

The word on the Mile Tower was that it was scaled to 1100m to 1150m. I don't know how true this height will be but that's the latest. The latest on Al Burj was a release from Nakheel that Big Al will be 1200m. There is no further word as to when they will make a formal announcement on commencment of the project. The are probably working on a new design for the press release. I would like to see a press release on the Mile Tower to see how high they want to go. As I understood, the Mile Tower had no spire, Al Buj did.

The question is will Kingdom Holdings stick a spire on top to ensure WTB? At the former 1050m height, Al Burj was about 900m or so to the roofline with observation/restaurant floors at around 850m. The Mile Tower's upper floors could be considerably higher.

Lotta fun, lotta fun

Dam! It probably will be something in my opinion really "Post Modern" I wonder if it will last as long as the pyramids have/did. Time will tell, Exciting time for Dubai.

its funny that there's no official plan, no?

I guess the final design would be pyramidal like the Burj Dubai ... and maybe adding a huge antenna to reach a large nominal height

Sky tower told us the renders are fake. Maybe it was a lie and the building will look like in the render.

I think he didn`t make it by himself and noone else have seen such a redner before. It`s new, it`s tall and we know the renders for the other extreme tall towers around the world.

Maybe this is the true render.

He only took that render from Flickr, blew it up, added a different background, and added his own logos. Thats it. That's the only knowledge he has of the tower. If he had more, trust me, he has his ways of letting you know about it.

He may be banned from here, but not from ssp or anywhere else.

The render could be real or not. Nobody here knows 100%

At this stage, how sure can we be that :-

a) The Al Burj will be built?
b) It will be over 1km tall?

Tell you the truth I don't think it's possible to build something that tall.
