The only real problem is that most of dubai's beaches are ****ed.

there are serious shelving issiues, take 5 or 6 steps into the water and suddenly...

one beach had a shelf of nearly 2 metres and has had to be closed.

they are trying to fix it with beach repleneshment, but until they can replace all the sand off shore, the beahes will keep sliding into the sea.

Actualy they would protect the rest of dubai against a tsunami, as they have big rock barriers around them.

true, also the beach thing.

but it should not be a major long term problem.
they can replace it after reclamation is finished.

Crazy stuff, but you Dubai fourmers should stop being so defensive about everything. source26 asked a good question, no need to laugh at him. And just because he is from a country doing something does automatically make his question irrelivant or a joke!

Does that mean that he knew? No it dosnt. If you want to start threads to brag about your projects thats fine. Just be prepared for people to expect information and not just pretty pictures. And its nice once in awhile to get a straight answer in threads. Cheers

About environmental issues. There's no doubt that the area will be damaged in the short term but we'll have to wait and see what happens afterwords.

it is actually surprising that the area only suffers minor damages and problems.

You see in that aerial render of what Dubai will look like with all it's land reclaimation projects like the palms and the world etc etc. On the left can you what looks like a star shape island? Inbetween one of the palms and that huge crescent shape. What will be on that star island?
