Most beautiful university campuses around the world

What are your favorite university campuses in your country or around the world, post pics here.

My top 3

University of Oxford

The oldest university in the english-speaking world, Oxford is not only one of the best school for higher educations, but it's school campus is also one of the finest in the world.

Peking University

Located on a former imperial garden for Qing Dynasty royalties, Peking University/Beijing University is renowned for its classical gardens designs and for having one of the most beautiful campuses.

University of Virginia

With grounds designed by United States' founding father Thomas Jefferson, the University of Virginia is among the most historically important universities in the U.S.. The university campus alongside with Monticello, also designed by Jefferson himself, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The honor is shared with only three other man-made World Heritage sites in the United States: the Statue of Liberty, Independence Hall, and Pueblo de Taos. (Source: Wikipedia)

The University of Cape Town, on the slopes of Table mountain, is South Africa's finest.

Hehe, everyone's just gonna put their school on here without regard to whether it actaully looks like crap or not.....

anyways, maybe not the best looking, okay, its the most hideos ever built, is the oral roberts university in tulsa. Of course, it was founded in the 60's by a televangelist, so what else do you expect:

The entire complex reminds me of the old sands in vegas. in fact, the whole place reminds me of vegas. which isnt a good thing since its a christian school.

*if you actually go there, then sorry, im just saying this tongue in cheek, we all know that there are far uglier places*

Columbia in New York is one of my favorites.

I also think the University of Wisconsin in Madison has a beautiful campus, although I'm a little biased because I went to school there. The buildings aren't necessarily as beautiful as Harvard or Oxford, for example. But, topographically, it's a beautiful campus. It's laid out on a narrow isthmus and has some nice hills.

ladolcevita good selections, I will say the same for Oxford and Beijing University. Rice University sure isn't the most beautiful in the world but it is the most beautiful in Texas, perfectly mix the old with new, with sculpures, fountains and gardens. It look like park more that University.

Princeton University - Princeton, NJ - USA

Princeton University was established in 1746.

Princeton University Chapel - Princeton, NJ - USA

West Point Military Academy - West Point, NY - USA

West Point Military Academy is a military service academy that was established in 1802. It is also home to the nation's oldest military installation (established in 1778) and the federal silver reserves of the United States. Graduates are called "The Long Gray Line" because of the color of their uniforms. And like the other five federal service academies, cadets are not called "freshman" or "senior", but called instead "fourth class" (freshman), "third class" (sophomore), "second class" (junior), and "first class" (senior). West Point's campus is also one of the largest in the world at 16,000 acres. West Point (and its sister academies), argueably, the most difficult institute of higher learning to get into in the world.

Graduates are all awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree and are commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the US Army.

Cadets and their distinctive gray uniforms.

A university in the Mediterranean? One of the great things about the US is that there is a university for every taste. No, what you see above is the prestigious Stanford University in Stanford, California. The spanish motif is very much in force here. The Bay Area, where this university is, is truly one of the prettiest regions in the world.

Harvard University, located in the city of Boston, is the nation's oldest and wealthiest university in the world with $19 billion in endowments. It was established in 1636.

This is Yale University, located in New Haven, Connecticut. It is the second wealthiest university in the world, just ahead of Princeton University and the University of Texas. Yale was established in 1701

Wow! I thought universities were a place of inspiration; promoting a dynamic exchange of ideas and thoughts, framed and reflected by a tangible, built expression in stone and glass; some of these campuses must only specialise in accountancy - some were just plain nondescript crimes against humanity...no.1 spot here goes to the University of Arizona

anyone got any pics of some of the continental European ones? Bologna for example

I think the most unique university in the world would have to be Simon Fraser University. Unlike most uni's, it was almost completly built in 30 months, and was designed by the famous Aurthur Eirkson...and the views from it are amazing

I don't have time to psot picts, but here are some links
Campus
The AQ
Convocation Mall

the concrete can get to you after awhile though
