I'm too lazy to read 12 pages of messages, so I don't know if this comment has been said....

With a 25 year construction timeline (although the actual tower may be less...25 years for the complex) I am sure something grander will be concieved and in construction by the time this comes to reality.....if it ever even does....

Such an expensive structure, with the primary occupancy being residences? Seems implausible even for this day and age.

I don't like all this planned city business.......you can't just build massive cities and expect people to come.....or as is my experience in sim city. haha

I'll believe this when I see it.

Question though, from the comparison of renders between this and Burj Dubai, the footprint for this isn't much larger, but the mass of the building is MUCH MUCH greater than Burj. At what point is bedrock no longer strong enough to sopport the weight of a building? For something this massive, are totally new materials and/or methods required to increase strength and reduce weight (I'm thinking something like carbon nanotubes). I have no idea, but this just seems so much more massive than anything ever built that it raises questions to me. I mean, when you built something this big it needs to be built to last, as in, thousands of years.

OMG! It scares me when i look at the comparisson between this building and the burj dubai. I mean, when the BD was just a project, I thought, this is crazy!! But now, this one is not only taller, but......HUGE!!!! Seriously, I imagine myself there, with the tower completed, and I would totally freak out! you know? It's like watching star wars or metropolis!

True that! I mean seriously, Kuwait has 2 million people and it's largest citiest have no more than a couple hundred thousand at most. Why doesn't Boise Idaho, or Billings Montana build a WTB while where at it? Who's going to buy/rent all of that space?

I don't know if it'll happen, alot of people doubted the Burj, and it happened. There was supposed to be one taller than the Burj in Dubai (Palm something or nother) but I don't think that's underway yet either. Yea sure the middle east has alot of money but they could be using it for better, more important things rather than 1000M skyscrapers.

Just my 2 cents.

Does Comic Book Store guy from the Simpsons belong to this site? Seriously I'm so sick of the Star Wars references. I didn't realize being an architecture enthusiast meant being a sci-fi geek. Enough comparisons w CGI-cities, this forum is for the real world.
