The population of Kuwait is 2.992 million. The population has increased by 8.6 % in 2005. This means that if that rate stays the same then within just 3 years the population would have risen by around 700,000 !

I doubt the tower will be built and if is it will finish after Burj dubai and probably Al Burj. The plans seem very basic it could take ten years to get to construction, is a hypo tower possible we shall see the budget is huge and it could spell disaster.

Al burj could be taller anyway, though Al burj seems like a tower this is a vertical city of huge proportions with huge arse costs. Again Al burj has been quoted at up to 1300m?

It will definitely finish after Burj Dubai because BD is going to be completed within two years. I think that the 1300m height of Al Burj that you're talking about is the joke that was made by Dubai_Boy.

If you're talking about the construction of this skyscraper then I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The completion date for the Whole City of Silk is after 25 years i.e. at around 2031. There has never been any official press release which states when the skyscraper will be completed.

I think this is basically just a masterplan for the future (well not these renders, these are just to show how it could look like).

hmmm...amazing plan really...but how are you going to populate such a city. Dubai is already a multicultural tourist destination, so Kuwait must become as important to support this big of a plan

Actually Kuwait, albeit a desert oil rich kingdom much like its neighbours is different from the sense that it is an entry point to the fertile plains of Mesopotamia and Anatolia. Kuwait port would naturally have a much higher demand than others in the region due to this obvious fact. Remember had Saddam Succeeded it would of been part of Iraq.
