When the city committee submitted the plan banck in Jan 2005, it was approved at 360 meters which was also the maximum height limit in Kuwait city.

Unless they increased the height limit later and exceeded the height of the tower its self.

The general manager of Kuwait Municipality said that the Al Hamra tower will have 77 floors and will be 412m in height ! He added that the tower will have a six floor shopping mall which will have a VIP car park in the underground levels; the ground floor and mezzanine level will be allocated for retail; the first floor will be for restaurants and leisure areas; the second floor will have a 9 screen cinema and a 2 floor gym. There will also be a japanese garden on the 77th floor. The project will also include an 11 floor car park which will fit 1727 cars !

So that makes 4 Middle East countries with supertalls underconstruction to dwarf their current skyscrapers:

UAE - the who-knows-how-tall Burj Dubai
Saudi Arabia - the 485m Abraj Al Bait
Qatar - the 445m Dubai Towers Doha
Kuwait - the 412m Al Hamra

Kuwaits current tallest (skyscraper) is Dar al Awadi at 171m. Al Hamra will be 2.4 times that height!

Great updates skoulikimou - keep em coming

And also Bahrain with the 300m+ Four Seasons Hotel, which will dwarf the current tallest Dual Towers (260m) and the Bahrain World Trade Center (240m each).
