Don't be put off by the luminous green in the models.

This tower's just huge for Manchester, it's in an ideal location too. Located right next to the approved 131m crown building and two other midrises u/c (sarah tower and 3 piccadilly place - so it won't be on its own like Beetham)

The tower itself soars, its look is sleek & cool - 9/10

Okay, maybe giving '10' is a little O.T.T... there are some far nicer looking skyscrapers in the world. But this tower - along with Beetham and the others - will massively boost Manchester's skyline ranking in Europe.

The impact of this building cannot be underestimated. It will help to transform what at present is an ugly, messy and confusing part of the city into somewhere befitting its gateway location. As for the building itself well I find its attractive enough and its height is stupendous of course but at the end of the day it looks to be an off-the-shelf skyscraper design. I agree with what somebody has posted previously in that the Beetham Tower looks like more of a work of art compared to Eastgate. Im not convinced by the design of the podium too.

Nevertheless a towering statement of Manchester present confidence and ambition. Get it built.

I don't care that it is an 'off the shelf' standard scraper design. The fact the Manchester is now getting some decent looking real scrapers is good enough for me.I will reserve judgment until the real thing materialises.I am confident though, like Beetham,it will turn out even better than the renders.

Not 'right next to', 200m apart.

I bloody like this. 8/10.

The shape of it, the way it rises and how it’s setback (especially in the first luminous green render) looks art deco. Anyone see what I mean? In short I like it 8/10

I really hope this fewker comes off, looks great. Will be a real bonus, not just to Manchester, but hopefully to the wider UK by showing other provincial cities what could be achieved.

Position, design, effect, all great.

I hastily gave this a 10, but oh well it's deserved of it and I pray it goes ahead. It'll work wonders for regeneration on that side of the city and it's simply a stunning design, something I never would have expected to see go up in this city.

I just hope all this glass ages well, I'd hate for it to become to new 'concrete', with us looking back in 30 years thinking it looks so dated. But I can't see that.

Looks just like the Doon Street Tower proposal in London, except a bit taller. I think it will be great if they get the cladding right. I can see this tower getting built in the near future too. 8/10 for height

Start buildin already!! Lol, really hope that this starts in January (as I'm sure I read on here sometime ago).. It will be hard to imagine that it will kick Beetham's 'short' (lol lol lol) ass on the skyline.. Cos, Beetham is a beast! So to have somet taller already, blimey (City tallests like buses... you ..yeh you know the phrase).

It will look and work well with Albany across the way, and unlike Beetham will have neighbours and other towers to keep it company so will work well..

8.5/10
