As far as I know the Deutsche Telekom hasn't found a new tenant for the restaurant and the (not revolving) observation deck of the Hamburg TV Tower. And I guess they don't want to lower the rent prices, which would be pretty stupid then. But the TV Tower is currently being renovated and surrounded by construction sites (extension of the trade fair area) anyway.

This is St Johns Beacon in Liverpool. It opened with a revolving restaurant in about 1970. The restaurant closed down in the late 70s due to problems with the fire authority and the structure was redundant for many years. In 1999/2000, the tower was renovated and made into a studio for a local radio station. It is also used as a very high billboard. Unfortunately, all of the revolving floor was removed.

As far as I know, there are no revolving restaurants in Britain nowadays.

There is one on top of the Marriott Hotel at Tampa International Airport. It is CK Tampa Resturant and Bar.

Does anybody have photos of the rotating restaurant at Central Plaza? I wonder how it works in a building with triangular floor plates.
Most of the TV tower revolving restaurants in Germany seems to have closed. It can't be that it's too expensive to run, as other countries don't seem to have the same problem. To me, it's just a big mystery. Probably typical Deutsche Telekom mismanagement.

I went to the one in New York, Ugly building but a cool glass lift up the central core of the building to the restaurant. Food was ok (but overly priced and not best quality). The view was pretty awful as you could only see the glow of times sqaure below you and only occasionally saw a recognisable building as its so built up there - plus the reflection from the square box the circular restaurant revolves in spoils any pics.

I know that this isn't really related but there's a revolving condo in Brazil now. And each floor (one tenant per floor) can rotate freely on itself at the desired speed... That means you can enjoy the experience of a revolving restaurant everyday

Jakarta, Indonesia

Having dinner doesn't just mean eating right now, it is a lifestyle. Location is the prime factor. Having elegant and lavish dinner in the unique restaurant is a trend for young entrepreneur. One of the perfect location is atop a high rise building. People will really enjoy the view of downtown Jakarta with the perfect meal and exotic drink.

An executive in Menara Imperium, Jakarta says having dinner in this type of restaurant can bring a personal entertainment. "I have an office in the lower level. While waiting for the traffic jam, I come over this place. Well, I can fill up my tummy and watch the sunset with the crowded street down in the road. Lucky, I shouldn't be donw in the road", he says in his table in Empire Grill at 35th floor of Menara Imperium, Jakarta.

Almost everyday he shows up in this restaurant. His absolute favourite place is next to the window that depicts the downtown of Jakarta. Having dinner in this kind of place makes him a leader in the lifestyle. Even, he thinks, the situation will make him feel relax and comfortable. As long as you are not afraid of height, it will relax your brain.

This atmosphere is perfect for some executive to make business meetings. Specially if the location has a power meeting point which is in the business district.

Beside business, Empire Grill is perfect for young couple who wants to enjoy the time together, having a romantic dinner with the downtown atmosphere beyond the window.

This restaurant allows their customer to view the downtown of Jakarta by 360 degrees. The revolving restaurant at the penultimate floor is crowned with a large fan-shaped shading device that allows the restaurant to be glazed with clear glass providing truly magical views of the city as the sunset and the city comes alive with light. Within 2 hours, the customer will go back at the same point after a rotation. A good point, the concept is so well planned by the management of Menara Imperium. It means they design and build the restaurant together and as a part of this building.

The Hyatt Regency hotel in Dubai has one, I think at the 25th floor, I think one round takes 60 or 90 minutes.

One of the oldest hotels in the city
