I must say America looks so much sexier in black and white especailly before teh 50's. Wow Houston really impresses me form the picutres fomr the 30's. It looks so urban and developed and just veyr nice. I like its skyline better then (not to offend anybody though).

Anyway, that first shot of Philly is unbelievable. I have never seen such a perfectly angled photo in good condition from that tie period. Amazing. Philly looks so huge and dense. I'm lovin' it.

Rochester:

The powers building 1879 (still to this day by far the best building in Rochester)

The City of Rochester steemboat on the Genesee, 1880

The original Kodak Headqaurters, 1892

The current Headquarters, built in 1913, picture from the 1960's)

All around Rochester, 1900

Downtown

The Monroe Co. Courthouse 1900

The Court Street Bridge 1900

The Lower falls 1900

Rochester Post Office 1905 (now city hall)

The Upper Falls, 1907

Ontario Beach Park 1909

The Boardwalk (still there, but just the boardwalk itself, the "walls" and "roof" are long gone)

Entrance to the park (shamefully, no longer there)

I just "googled" "old pictures of Rochester", and I got some good hits. (actually, most of those pics came from the same website that I found by clicking on one of the google hits). You could probably do it for any city.
