My pleasure TexasStar.

Proving that Phoenix wasn`t all built in the last 30 years, heres some photos of how it used to look, before it went all shiny and modern.

Central Avenue 1939

The rest of the photos are from the 1940's

Downtown Phoenix

Washington Street

Hotel Adams and the Valley National Bank Building

City Hall

San Carlos Hotel

Found this amazing photo of San Francisco's skyline in 1930! Everything is there, the Call Building, the Hobart Building, the Ferry Building, the Humbodlt Bank Building, the Shell Building and the Russ Building.

Like the "original", it is most impressive at night.

In that respect, here it's like the 50s and 60s never ended. Pretty soon we'll be marketing our lots as historically significant!
the original Electric Tower on the PAN AM grounds was made of the same material that all the other the exibit buildings were made of...and stucko-mud type plaster that would naturally fall apart after a years time...it was in Buffalo's destiny to lose the tower. The only building not constructed with this material was the now* Historical Society building, or History Museum for short.

why does everything in US looks better in the old days, just look at the fantastic vibrancy the downtowns use to have.

Because everyone left the cities for the suburbs, but they're coming back somewhat. Even Manhattan had twice as many people as it does now before World War II.
