2) russia is NOT in europe some people need to take some geography lessons
3) the tower is i think a very good addition to the london skyline, its not abstract but its individual to the area, and it has 50+ floors of residential and the adjacent tower is going to be a hotel.

in future it would be good if you gave advice to people like me and not just critisise my mistakes a little help goes a long way you know.

by the way i have been to toronto etc and i love some of the towers they have over there so im not just bias to London
actually a large chuck of russia is in Europe - Technically the continent of europe extends to the Ural mountains which are quite a distance inside russia.

Gunners, hope we can help mate, and I agree people have to cut the newcomers a wee bit of slack.

No offense, but the way europe is we would rather not be in it!

Sadly though, we already are...

Well, the EU anyway... But we are talking about the continent here.

Speak for yourself Newcastle Kid... the EU has done fantastic things, it will always be difficult, but the benefits outway the costs... especially in the long ruyn and especially when your criteria is the welfare of mankind...

Europe is in Europe, i am the king of europe and define its parameters... are you a higher authority than me? Europe is an idea, a shared history, a community, a collection of peninsulas... a subcontinent of asia in its truest form. So dont get technical because the existence of Europe contradicts the technicalities already.

Let's stick to the tower.... London has very few high quality 'normal' towers, so this is quite the step... especially where CW is concerned, the more residential towers that go up then the more this area will anchor itself as a major city inside london (which is now a small country).

Nice but masterpiece? I don't think so really.

How does it compare to the Triumph Palace?

I think it is a pretty nice tower for London. I don't really see what the big fuss is about.

Compared to what london is getting in the city it is nothing. For CW it is nice though.

First point: The Pan-Peninsula Tower that is built in Canary Wharf, London, is a RESIDENTIAL tower - and only RESIDENTIAL. The Turning Torso is a high-rise building that contains offices. Other towers mentioned in this thread contain an hotel element, offices, are mixed-used, etc. If these towers can hardly be classified as "residential tower" according to my english dictionary.

Second point: please do not compare North-American, Asian or Middle-Eastearn towers with European Towers. London combines medieval churches and streets with 21century state-of-the-art skyscrapers. Hardly a typical feature of North-American, Asian or Middle-Eastern cities.
