I didn't know Russia moved to somewhere else? Where are they know?

Now that Russia is no longer in Europe, Europe must be the biggest island on earth! Interesting.

If I am part Russian...can I list myself as an Asian American so I can get into college easier than white people?

I love these kinda threads, I always place a bet with myself as to when the first London bashing post will come in...will it be the 2nd post...3rd...4th maybe...? Good times eh?

Well, just to clear things up: No, it is not a 'world class', architecturally magnificent building, and it doesn't set itself up to be that either. It is just a decent looking, modern-contempory-art-deco kinda skyscraper that will add to the growing Canary Wharf skyline nicely. If this was London's only new skyscraper going up in London I might be more frustrated about it, but the fact is, London is in a whole new era of skyscrapers, and there are skyscrapers that have been proposed/approved (mainly in the City area) that look truly world class, such as the Minerva building:

and one of, if not the, best skyscraper I've seen in a long ime, the Bishopsgate tower:

and that's not to mention LBT, Heron tower, The Leadenhall Building etc etc.

What's great about the situation in London is that Canary Wharf has its own style, some may call it 'boxy', but in a cluster it looks really impressive, and some of the 'boxes' themselves are stunningly origional when you really look at them closely; whereas the City area is going for more uniquely shaped and dynamic skyscrapers that isn't quite as clustered as CW but looks brilliant nonetheless. You've got the best of both world's really!

A couple of examples of more future CW skyscrapers:

Columbus:

Riverside South Towers

When all these skyscrapers are up, ud be hard pressed to find a city in Europe with a better skyline.

Here endeth todays lesson

I'm not very impressed for these super-commieblocks, but Bishopsgate tower and the LBT are great, I like very much its design and in my opinion they will be one of the most pretty towers joined to Arena towers in Madrid .

The Arena towers in Madrid are O.K but I would not put them anywhere near the same league as Bishopsgate or LBT

The quickest way to clear up your confusion is to look at a topography
map, and see where the Eural Mountains are.. anything to the West of
them is in Europe.

it's simply unimportant.....

But for the sake of it i will throw in my opinion... Europe is not a real geographic area but a mindset, a shared history and development, one that Russia has very much been apart of.

Geographically russia is in, historically russia is in.... the same applies to turkey. No one possesses the authority to demarcate europe.

The bombs have been prepped, the targets are locked, all it needed was for someone to light the fuse...and here come skyscraperkid24 with a match already lit!!!

Heheh, although I have to agree, that comment could spark some agression.

I live in Poland and at the moment I am spending a fair amount of time in Warsaw. I have to say that Warsaw is not the most attractive of cities. WW2 leveled much of it and what it was replaced with lots of concrete. Another thing i have noticed is that the city centre has lots of very wide open roads.

But do not write off Warsaw. The old town is very attractive and well presented and Warsaw has some mighty fine towers making up what I consider the best sky line of any X Eastern block country.

Take a look at the Warsaw Trade Tower, the Intercontinental (with its freaky cut away section), Rondo 1, the Marriot (LIM) and of course Golden Terraces. All clustered around the Palace of Science and Culture (with the exception of WTT). They form a really striking cluster. If more towers such as the Oraco Tower are going to be added then that is only going to be a good thing.

Warsaw has changed and is changing and quite an impressive pace…. it is worth keeping an eye on it.

I forgot to write that I was talking about european scrapers under construction that's all. And I think they're in the same league as new projects of Europe.

Oh dear, poor Frankfurt. It really needs the Urban Entertainment Center, Millennium Tower, Campanile, Marieninsel, Max and Neue Mainzer Straße to be able to concur the building activity in London!!!
