oh not again! I just asked one of the admins to change the height to 130m two days ago and now it's taller again? with 136m it's as tall as gallileo or kaiserkarree ... quite big for the area ...

great tower,i really like this project! if it will be 136 m it would be really great because IMO Franfurt needs more highrises in that area(innenstadt/zeil) and generally outside the Bankenviertel. Also it would be cool if they would build some residential highrises in Frankfurt, but i don't really see that happening.

there are two residential towers planned right next to this project alone. but it seems investors prefer to earn money with offices.

They only plan one tower now, because a second tower would spoil the skyline view of an already existing tower.

Chaps, Maintower update from yesterday. The crane which rise with the tower (most left one) has been climbed and has been linked to the tower for the first time. There will be second link later on. Finally it will rise up to 144 Meters. The crane right hand in front of tower will be removed soon. Also remarkable is the progress on the palace being recontructed.

Update from Tuesday. In the meanwhile they started cladding of the shopping center. Unfortunatly I didn't have the time to make a photo of this. It's quite interesting to see how the overhanging part will statically be constructed and how the first floor(s) will be mounted upwards.

The palace becomes its southern wing.

And some impressions when passing this place by car.

Ok, guys, time for an update of exceptional nature...

Last Wednesday I had the oportunity to visit this construction area combined with a presentation of this project and a guided tour hitting some major spots all over this place. I hope the following pictures give an idea about the complexity and the real size of this development. Actually it is the biggest inner city re-development within (at least) Germany and bigger than once the one of Potsdammer Platz in Berlin. At least it is with almost 1 Billion Euro's much more expensive...

However, let's start with those views which are accessable to everybody and pictures of the model in the marketing area of MAB on the 5th floor a building opposite to the office tower side...

Here some views over the construction area from that 4. level opposite. First picture shows the construction start of the drive down to the 6 level underground parking, the second the reconstruction of the Palais Thurn and Taxis, the third the progress on the hotel tower and the last the office tower.

...guided tour follows...
