It's an really amazing project which an excellent design, only the white facade doesn't do it for me, but perhaps they change it.

Here is a nice video to download (English):

Here another air picture showing the huge areal, including the former Newspaper areal (marked with red) HD mentioned going to be demolished in January. Langhof Architects located in Berlin are already finetuning there design.

current statuts: construction of a giant concrete plate at ground level started (they're at the supporting walls right now) - once completed this will enable the construction of the towers and digging the floors below ground at the same time.

Construction Status in May 2006:

The foundation is nearly finished, the cap is being constructed at a depth of 6-8 m.
When finished they will build simultaniously downwards under the cap (5 Floors, parking Lot) and upwards starting with the shopping Forum and the taller tower. These are my latest informations.

Pictures:
Here u see the excavation pit of the office Tower with its baseplate:

Here an overview of the site, the former Rundschau Buildings are gone by now, soon we will see something rising over Frankfurt...

it always takes long to break ground, especially for such a huge and complex project, but once construction reaches ground level things will move quicker.
