The Financial Island will offer 500,000 square meters of office space for the leading international and regional financial services providers, business hotels and a new exhibition and convention center. There will be two towers reaching up to 160 stories that offer compelling views of the surrounding city skyline.

Thats what I'm talkin about! Two 160 floor towers!

WTF where did you get this? Until I see some renders I won't believe it. Anyway, Emaar will definitely not build these higher than burj dubai since burj dubai is really their flagship project.

vc15nets, I believe that must've been a typo... they would've been boasting about the worlds tallest building had it really been a twin 160-floor towers! the rest of the news article mention two towers (one with 100 floors and the other one with 60) - so this article must've mentioned the combined floors.

wow, this is only 13 000 acres, imagine what emaars new city in pakistan would look like, which would be on a mind boggling 30,000 acres, thats like 3 times bigger then this.

i cant wait till they launch it, which would happen late next year.

The launch timing of the project is perfect! It is directly after the GCC summit
I love this project. I love it more because it is a great step forward to solve the problem of unemployment in KSA.

The 55m sqm mentioned in one of the articles is misleading, because the area mentioned in the website is 47m square meters. Anyway, the 27bn dollars say its going to be big enough.

I also hope that is DP the one that is going to operate the port.

I've been to Jeddah twice, stopped over on my way to Makkah, and Medina for Umra. Its a beautiful city, can't wait to go back after KAEC is done!

I'm lovin' this project.

How far would KAEC be from Mekkah and Medina ? 600 - 700 km ?

Why do Arabs like building in water so much? I'm just thinking of Dubai, Manama, and now in Jeddah.
