it's absolutely natural. it's not pollution, but just smog of smoldering peat. very usual for summer.

Not every year, not like these days and not without any wind end extremely high temperature for weeks or even months now.

Common? Perhaps. Natural? That's highly debatable.

речь не про температуру, а про горящие торфяники. они горят каждый год без исключений. просто не всегда это так хорошо заметно.

I know what peat is. I was just saying that "natural" was an unlucky choice of a word.

absolutely perfect.

i'll repost, you might missed the point
1. there are large deposits of peat in central russia.
2. there is nothing strange in smoldering peat, it's natural for peat in our climate.
3. there is a smog from smoldering peat every summer, because of slow winds and low precipitations.
4. this is not because of tropical temperature. it happens every year on way lower temperatures. might even not stops during winters.

In any case I hope that the disastrous fires around Moscow can be extinguished soon... more rain would help.

To topic...

...interesting angle on this pic, that puts 3 prospective supertalls next to each other. But which one will be first? If Eurasia Tower and Federation Tower don't proceed at normal construction speed in 2010, Mercury Tower in the background will claim the title for next tallest building in Europe IMO.

Yes... I wouldn't want to breath the Moscovite air at the moment.

Although things seem to change from day to day. mr. MyXiN has posted this pic of Federation Towers showing clear blue sky on 05. August. At least the urban dwellers don't have the massive problems of the folks in rural areas now.

Is construction affected somehow by these fire smog periods?

According to observations by scientists of the world since 2008 and by 2010, the capital of Russia, Moscow remains the most corrupt metropolis on earth, ahead of the most densely populated city in the world Mexico!

P.S> Warning! In Moscow, because of smog withdrawing embassy staff. U.S. and European countries are advised citizens to refrain from visiting the capital and central regions of Russia, in Moscow detained dozens of flights. Visibility at the airports of the capital is deteriorating.

Yesterday I heard in the Austria News, that the buildings and cars in russia are built for temperatures from -40°C up to +40°C, but in Moscow are more than +40°C !
That's not so good....

I hope for russia this heat wave ends soon, because of the pictures what I had seen in the news yesterday! Horribly!

Actually beyond these limits russians usually start worrying about the weather.
