how can you be so ignorant and compare this provincial gateway with the best and excellenty designed international gateway of bangkok. what was the name of this airport in turkey anyway, anyone heard of it before ?
no need to answer, i will not frequent this page any longer, not worth it. south east asia is where the world is changing, not turkey. what a silly projection to even compare.....

It is FANTASTIC!

They also showed us details of the project and 3D video of the completed interior model. (Though it is prohibited to copy, or publish it anywhere). It will be consisting of mainly green glass and yellow granite. Pretty artistic. There will also be a botanic garden with trees and a small pond inside the terminal's international flights parts. That place is called "Valley", which is between Duty Free Shops and plane-bridges. People will pass over from the top of the valley on bridges, while going to the plane-bridges.

Whatever I have taken dozens of technical pics, which I will post some of them in the following days. Now I have an exam to deal with..

But.. Of course I will let you taste some of it.

Those are the some 3D models I shooted from the walls of the construction office. Details are not very good, as they were taken by camera.

Here is the best of mine.. (I didn't post some similar shots sent earlier this week)

Some Exterior

First Floor - Passengers will enter Ankara from here..

Second Floor - If I am not mistaken, there will be food courts in this floor, and passengers will pass from here to their planes.

(Btw roofs will be covered with white sleek roofs, trusses will not be visible. I may send a small part of covered roofs (just the trial, they haven't started covering interior roofs yet), if you want)

There will be two roads (up and down), and two main enterances of the airport. You can see the columns which will be supporting the upper part. Also Underground autopark is viewable.

The Valley - The place between terminal's nternational part and the plane-bridges (I don't know the techincal name ) It will have an inside garden, pond and also Duty free shops etc.

Size of Truck is a nice comparision.

VIP Section's enterance will be here..

The place before passing to plane bridges.

Looking from new to old...

it's going on...

October 29th is the openning day, it is also the openning day of high speed Train and Istanbul-Bursa fast ferry lines. Because it is "Republic Day" of Turkey...

Hey awesome airport! This is how the airports need to be built. I am jealous of your city's new airport, even though my city (Bangalore,India) is getting 12 million passenger capacity new airport [most ugly looking anyone could think of !!!]

Nice design! This way, all three major cities of Turkey will have new airports. What is the status on Izmir's new airport and Istanbul Ataturk's terminal extension?

So far, it doesn't look good. It looks AMAZING!!!
BTW, how many terminals going to be there?
And what's going to happen to the existing airport?
