Weird...

USA, easily. China has its gems, but like Brazil the vast majority of the skylines are repetitve, and rather dull residential highrises.

Brazil!? It would make more sense to put Japan in!
Anyway I think the States still got the edge in what concerns skyscrapers!

Looking at Brazillian cities Im shocked. Man, I would never want to live in one. Those buildings are ugly.
much better than the commie blocks in Asia.

Either way, its plain stupid to "not want to live in a city" because the buildings are ugly viewed from the air.

In fact, its just an lame excuse to say "my country is highrises capital of the world because even Brasil has many more highrises, they are ugly IN MY OPINION"

/\no it doesnt.

But the thread is about HIGH-RISE CAPITAL, not skyscraper capital. Highrise definition by EMPORIS is a 12 floors + building. And Brasil clearly has MANY MORE highrises than US. So Paulo alone has more highrises than USA!

Agree.
If the question is which Country have more HighRises? Brazil by very far.
Now if the question is:
Which country have more beautiful High Rises or more Skyscraper? USA by far.

While it may have a lower profile on the world stage than China or the USA, Brazil can claim to be - by definition of the word - highrise capital of the world. Megacities like Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Belem, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Recife, etc. account for most of the highrises in that country. The sea of density in these cities is unparalled by any other country. Bare in mind that the issue is not skyscrapers (where height is a premium), but highrises (where density is).

Honestly, I cannot understand how people can vote the United States in high-rise capital of the world when the majority of the population, and land use is used for single-family suburban homes.

This thread does not belong in this forum. It should be moved to Citytalk and Urban Issues.
