Durgapur Expressway pics
I went from Kolkata to Burdwan by road last Tuesday. I will post the pics here and write a trip report in the regular highways thread.
Please excuse the bad photographic quality as I have taken them from the back seat of a toyota qualis going at 110kmph ! at an intersection near dankuni dankuni intersection toll plaza near dankuni - not yet active trucks usually stick to the left lane on this stretch it has service rd on either side lanes merge from service rd into the highway - soft shoulder on median a typical diamond interchange (flyover) curves are smooth but notice the goats grazing in spite of the guard rails interchange near palsit running parallel to the howrah-delhi railway line highway signboards are of good quality, but not all signs are this big ! cars such as this indica are not a common sight stop line for right turn towards bardhaman - no interchange here !

Looking at these pics, I was wondering if :
1. are there cats-eye kind of reflectors embedded in the tarmac (lane separators, intersections etc) ? I don't see any in these pics... 2. for signages, have they used reflecting paint? These become very important for night driving.
