SM Mall of Asia v.s. Siam Paragon

Although SM Mall of Asia is the best SM Mall basically because of it's more wide-ranging facilities to offer, it simply is not as classy enough to beat Siam Paragon.

Based on the pics I've seen (since I've never been to both before), SM Mall of Asia has many things that it could improve on. I mean, look at those tacky and cheap-looking railings you see at the second floor fronting the main facade of SM Mall of Asia.

I believe that Siam Paragon is the best large-scale mall in South-east Asia, Central World Plaza notwithstanding.

In the Philippines, Greenbelt 3 & 4 takes it...as well as Rockwell Power Plant Mall. The SM Group are better at constructing and managing mega-malls for the middle-class rather than the really class-A malls like Ayala Center Greenbelt, Shangri-La Plaza, and Rockwell Power Plant Mall. Even their attempt at it (refering to The Podium) is not as good.

@ aranetacoliseum

SM Mall of Asia is not the 3rd largest in Asia. There are many malls in China that are larger including South China Mall (Dongguan), Golden Resources Mall (Beijing), Grandview Mall (Guangzhou), Chia Tai Square (Shanghai), and Beijing Mall (Beijing). If the Asia by definition relative to this thread is the Asian continent and not the Asia Pacific Region then the countries in the Middle-east would be included in this "size contest". U.A.E's great booming city of Dubai is constructing a mall that would supplant even China's ultra-sized malls. This malls name is Mall of Arabia (The Dubai Mall is another contender but would be definitely smaller than Mall of Arabia) and it will be located in the Downtown part of DubaiLand, otherwise known as the City of Arabia.

SM Mall of Asia is not even the largest in South-east Asia...that distinction belongs now to Central World Plaza of Bangkok. Berjaya Times Square is also larger than MoA.

Soon it'll not even be the largest mall in the Philippines because SM North EDSA will expand so that it will leapfrog both SM MoA and SM Megamall in total size of floor area. Let us also not forget about the mega-expansion plans for Araneta Center (i.e. Manhattan Mall) which will likely push it to be the largest shopping complex in the world until the Triple Five Group (owners of Mall of America and West Edmonton Mall) opens their uber-sized malls in China. One would be in Dalian (with the name Mall of China) and the other would be in Wenzhou (with the name Triple Five Wenzhou Mall).

The SM Mall of Asia is the largest shopping mall in the Philippines and the largest shopping mall in the world in terms of gross floor size (next is the Golden Resources Mall in China and West Edmonton Mall in Canada). It opened on May 21, 2006[1].

What's your definition of "Shopping Mall" and "Shopping Complex"??

For most people, they are just the same. Just how the owners want to call them.
Total retail area of Central World (excluding office, hotel, convention hall) is a lot larger than SM MOA.

COMPLEX i think is a group of structures related or connected in one place or area..

CENTRAL world plaza is a shopping MALL and offices complex also like what you said it has a convetion hall and a hotel...
for a total of "550,000square meters" from 300,000m

on the other hand MALL OF ASIA lying on the 19.5 hectares at the SM central business park is a 400,000 square meters shopping mall alone and it does not includes the:

*U/C "E-com SM I-city 1st building<69,300 square meters"

*the MAITRADE convention centre, hotel and expo
*multi purpose SM coliseum.

Sorry to disappoint you but your information is totally wrong!!
Did you read my previous posts carefully?!!!!

For Central World, 550,000 sqm is for shopping mall alone!!
It's total area including offices, hotel, and convention hall is 800,000 sqm.

Can you still insist that SM MOA is larger than Central World??

I don't know why some people love to brag about SM MOA when it's actually not that great.
(sorry again to other Filipinos)

Hope it's clear!

And let me remind you that in my eyes its a "copy", for the Fashion Mall has been open for far longer than Central World and was the first to having a fashion runway inside a shopping mall but in your eyes you use the word "same" because you don't want it to be known as a mall with a tired or shall I say a mall with not so much of an original concept.
