Convention Center, which is an SM project within the 60-hectare SM Central Business Park
fronting the Manila Bay in Pasay City, recently held its initial concrete pouring for the 46,074-

Present during the event were SM executives led by SM Prime Holdings (SMPH) President,
and SM First Executive Vice President Hans T. Sy (4th from left) and (L-R): Design

Monolith Construction EVP Mariano See Diet; Shopping Center Management Corp. AVP

SMX Convention Center is touted to become the preferred venue for major conferences and
trade exhibits with the building’s contemporary design, flexible open spaces and modern
facilities, and ideal location. This early, organizers of both local and international events
have already signified their interest.

The three-storey structure will feature a main lobby with VIP rooms and a concierge. The
ground level will be convertible into 4 halls, while level 3 will have 6 halls and 9 meeting
rooms. Commercial shops will be located along the perimeter of SMX Convention Center and
a 2nd level bridgeway will connect it to the SM Mall of Asia.

Aside from SMX, SM will also soon launch its project to develop an adjacent 15,000-seating

. These, in addition to the SM Mall of Asia and the OneEcom Center,
are the four anchor projects that will turn the 60-hectare SM Central Business Park into the
country’s prime business district by the bay, integrating technologically advanced

For the most part Asian malls and shopping centers are as sterile and lame as American malls and shopping centers.
