Yes. But only since they are all in such a huge country. Because in terms of supertalls per city there is only one winner...

Nevertheless, if these towers could form a skyline, it would probably be the best one ever. Too bad, then as a tourist, to see all of China's supertalls, you would probably have to travel 10000km.

It is true these cities spread across vast distances. I don't think three months vacation would cover everything. There are so many sites seeing in China. Anyway, here are 10 fastest development cities in China. Guess what, Guangzhou is standing #4. Not bad.

Maybe they are talking about Mainland China. Hong Kong at the end of the day is Hong Kong SAR, so its not really under the same governenment

It's not too bad actually :-)
You could fly to Hong Kong, from there Shenzhen is only a few kilometers away, and Guangzhou less than one hour train away. From there you could fly or take train to Nanjing to see soon-completed Greenland Plaza. Nanjing is not too far from Shanghai, and from there you would fly to Beijing to see the World Trade Centre. Tianjin will have another supertall soon completed, but it is only a short train trip away from Beijing.

And that's it, as I don't think any other Chinese city has a supertall nearing completion (please correct me if I'm wrong ^ ^ ).
Of course, many more are planned or in progress, so the longer you wait... ^ ^

Well, dear Pengui, I truly think that the most impressive city being developped now in mainland China is Chongqing. Might have to go there too...

This is very worrying development. I'm hoping they are just temporary protection during internal fitout work, cause if they were permanent it would turn one of the most stunning skyscrapers in the world into an fugly mess. Someone please confirm, that would make me feel much better

Yes, Chongqing is likely to have at least one or two supertalls done by 2011, looking at z0rg's awesome list :-)

You're right about that. I noticed it too. I think they make a mistake. Maybe it misses a digit. That sound about right.

Beautiful, stunning modern & clean design - just love the lobby-escalators area. Congratulations Guangzhou!
