it will not be poured, it's a steel structure around the central-core

the core looks a little to big for the size of this building.

Here's a question for the technical experts: the cranes sit on clamps/platforms secured to the core; they are supported by clamps about four floors higher. The cranes are fixed height, and rise with the core. How are the cranes raised?

the crane brings up sections to connect to existing crane tower and then its raised up.the the clamps get taken off and put up at its next higher place.

i count 32 floors in core which looking at plans is 152m high or 500ft! just amzing speed.

Very clever design. Seems like Guangzhou has a thing for this steel pipe structure.

it'll look very impossing with that steel pipe structure just can't wait till they start putting up the facade and it won't be long considering the speed of progress of this tower

According to today's Yangcheng Evening News, the west tower has reached 1/3 of the designed height(100+m). The present construction speed is 3 days a floor. All the construction will be finished by Oct 28th 2009
