tower is now 45th office lev (not include 2storey lobby). now 214.5m.

remember the top 30 floors are hollow construction just like ICC and Jin mao.
so core will stop and a smaller core will take over.

What a huge use of the diagrid design! Is this the world's tallest building u/c currently using the diagrid system or are there larger examples planned or u/c? I've seen diagrid heavily used with steel forming the main load bearing structure, but never concrete.

funnily enough, the other tall structure using diagrid framing is also in Guangzhou, being the 450m tv tower.
the diagrid steel structure is hollow steel aprx 1.5m dia. i dont think concrete would work using this system.

I read somewhere that the Est Tower will be at least partially developed by Donald Trump. They want to make it taller, as tall as 700m according to the press, but very few chances.
