the next 30 floors have 3 small cores located at each cnr of the triangular core. they will be hidden by the core scaffold ,so it will look like a single large core rising but it will be 3 small ones with atrium in centre.

what is the actual purpose of having 3 small cores instead of one large core?

To be honest, at first I really didn't like the green color of cladding. But after seeing this picture, i have to agree the green color does fit the existing buildings nearby and looks much better now.

that's what's good about it, IT STILL HAS LONG WAY TO GO...

I'm quite confident that this tower and maybe east tower in the future will take part in new year celebration, even though guangzhou tv tower would be the best contender. They don't only celebrate new year in china publically in one city do they? but if it is so, then Guangzhou has no chance.

China is so vast that every Chinese big city celebrates the new year in its own way. Take Guangzhou as an example,, there will be a magnificent firework show and a big count down event with more than 1 million people on Dec31 every year.

5 years ago I attended the new year countdown near the following CITIC plaza in Guangzhou. It was exciting and fun but that was way too crowded.

there're using the cross bracing tubes on the core wall??? (maybe not the same size)

And those paintings on the exterior tubes are done manually by humans?
