Spot the Guangzhou TV Tower!

The Mech Floor cladding looks good, It is noticeable but not too obvious, and this is definitely one of my favourite buildings, especially because it is green!

I was just thinking, the basic shape of the Shanghai Tower is sort of a twisted version of this tower, because both of them are triangle in shape, and are also rounded at the corners.

I agree, that mech floor cladding is perfect. This will be one of the best (if not the best) looking building in China.

the "smiling faces" on the tower are for hyping up the 2010 asian olympics, which will be held in gz..there will be a total of 2010 pictures of smiling faces projected on the side of the tower over the next 10 days..

by the way, does anyone know what materials are used in the mech floor cladding..it can't be glass, can it?

and why is so important the natural light on the mechanical floors?

a cheaper/stronger materilal can be used there. (probably they use glass for esthetic reasons)

what does sunlight have to do with mech floors? glass can't be used to cover mech floors because of heat rejection, so they usually just throw vents over them..but this mech floor "cladding" actually looks like glass..anybody know what's going on with this?

It's either glass or painted blue panel. Either way, if you look closely you'll see that the installation is not sealed and that there are gaps left open in between each of the panels.
