@ssfan ofcourse they must be dirtier than western cities .Even now i don't expect Chinese cities to be as clean as frankfurt or paris .Still the western media projected guangzhou shenzhen as almost unliveable I have seen far worse cities myself .Actually guangzhou was ranked behind even mumbai chennai and calcutta TRUST ME THEY ARE HORRIBLE .

Seeing thsoe rankings you get a very very bad feeling about guangzhou and other chinese cities .Maybe they are not as clean as berlin, helinski or stockholm (which are just super clean) but i am sure they are not the worst inthe entire world at least not guangzhou and shenzhen or shuzou :P . Lets be frank new york is horribly dirty .I mean the metros look disgusting . brookyln bronks queens they all look messed up and some places are just scary they just look like slums

I don't think we can blame these magazines cause most of their staffs might not have chances to visit all of these cities.

However, I do hope more and more people can come to China to experience the real life in China.

If you are interested in Guangzhou, you can visit my thread
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=819460

There are thousands of new pictures of Guangzhou taken in 2009.

I was expecting the cladding to be more translucent so the steel bars would be more distinguishable.

But since the majority of skyscraper fans like the current cladding, i would say that it's okay.

They very visible. U prolly looked at toddhuberts post and saw the first and the last picture cus there its has a reflection so the bars arent so visible. If the bars would stand out more i think it'd be too much.

silentstrikes right, it all depends on the viewing angle.
there are some pics where there isnt any glare, and all the bars pop right out in your face
i bet it looks even more stunning in real life
