That's going to make for a pretty horrid city to live in, especially with Guangzhou's weather. Every modern city planner is trying to figure out ways to bring more green into the urban fabric not less. Without a balance of low and tall, hard and soft you'll end up with a city that's both unattractive and unlivable.

Look Zorg, actually to have a more breathable air we should add A LOT of trees AND limit the percentage of private transportation. And trees are very effective in improving air quality:

Since you're talking about "greenery fetish"... is it not a fetish this "density" thing? To me it looks like it's stemming from some psychological disease... what is this density good for? It won't let you enjoy any kind of architecture... it drives way down the quality of life in a city... it creates enormous problems with traffic and pollution... makes for gloomy and dirty streets... it's definitely a relic of an era when urban planning was poor and chaotic. Looks like the only city going for such a concept today in China is Chongqing, and I feel they are going to regret it very soon... it's just crazy what they're doing there, no one will want to reside or work in such a city. As to the "green oceans in the countryside", makes me think of a car commercial... but you can't have that anymore even in Europe, imagine in Guangdong. I guess you know what the Chinese "countryside" looks like. So it's not like we can afford separating "green oceans" from inhabited areas. Trees should be everywhere, and I believe the Chinese government is planning in this direction.

Thanks god Guangzhou planners devised a real plan, a well-organized one, with vast spaces to have a harmonic flow of traffic and let people enjoy the view of architecture. In Guangzhou you will have a lot of perspectives on the towers, not like some other cities where you only get a view of the skyline when you're in very selected spots or from kilometers away. The skyline will have its "dynamics". And thanks god there will be wide boulevards with trees. Not many of them, but better than nothing. It's not by chance that planting trees raises the commercial value of any type of land.

Like trees and supertalls were forced to take the same spots.

I prefer density. Something about being surrounded 360 degrees by skyscrapers gives me comfort.

Anyway, I have to say that next to WTC7 this building has the best glass I've ever seen.
