![]() Still good to see KFC finally open in Leeds, looked busy when I finished work and certainly has late closing times of 2am everyday except on Fridays and Saturdays when KFC is open until 4am no doubt to compete with McD's, Subway, Dixy, Cottage and the independents for the post club market. |

I think McDonalds, Subway and Greggs are open 24hrs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays?

On a similar note are Pizza Hut ever going to return to the city centre considering the Briggate Pizza Hut was always busy back in the day during their £5 eat as much as you like buffets? Surprised Pizza Hut never considered taking over the old Hard Rock Cafe / Fellicinis unit on Woodhouse Lane (now Players Sports Bar) or the still vacant Wokmania / Pizzamania / Spicemania units in City Square or have they virtually given up the Leeds market to the likes of Pizza Express, Zizzis and Strada (with the latter three providing much nicer pizzas of course it seems Pizza Hut are a big brand missing from the city centre)? |

Pizza Hut could probably still open in the suburbs or inner city somewhere where the market is a bit lower-demand and less saturated than the City where Pizza Express/Strada etc dominate.

Does anyone think Pizza Hut could return to Leeds by opening a branch in Trinity or Eastgate?
I'm also surprised the city centre branch closed as it was always busy during lunchtimes as mentioned above!! |

No reason why not, similar outlets such as nandos do a roaring trade in Leeds.

Not sure it'll open in Trinity, but it could open somewhere else in the city. Eastgate definitely, but that's years off.

Also, why don't Pizza Hut open in the new bar/restaurant quarter at the Merrion Centre. It would be a roaring success with all the vistors to the Arena. |

The Merrion would be a possibility. Trinity seems to be going for a higher order tenant mix in the dining sector.

Does anyone know if the Stick and Twist and the Casino will be redeveloped or preferebly demolished?
I can't believe that pile of s**t is going to be near the new and shiney arena. Surely there are plans to do something about this eyesore. |

There's a couple of proposals to redevelop it, both involve retaining the casino and pub.

Noticed on my visit to Poverty Central (Leeds) today that the office block above KFC is looking terrible. It's not clad in stone but some kind of cheap yellowy cement render.

That grey plastic looks horrid, which is probably why it was dropped in the end. The best thing they could do would be to clad it in the York stone the office tower is clad in above.
