oh
(ok, its better then istanbul and Levent. There is a Military base in the north. They have anti-Terrorism hijacked plane rockets. So, īthe new Turkish Central Bank tower can't be higher then 28 storeys)

But is it possible to "connect" or to fill the area between CW and City Centre?

I guess so, but as said in many threads we think it would be better to have many different skylines:

1. We dont want to look like manhattan(not that manhattan doesnt look GREAT, but that is Manhatten. London is different.)
2. There won't be many smaller towers blocking or distracting from the kings of the clusters
3. This will give London a very unique

The City has a height limit of 288m, which I would imagine extends out towards the Docklands.

In any case, the area between Canary Wharf and the City has some of the poorest, most rundown, crime-infested neighbourhoods in London. It wouldn't really make sense to build skyscrapers here.

If the city has a height limit of 288m why is LBT getting built at over 300m??

Oh I dunno. We won't see anything on the scale of Canary Wharf or The City, but the area is seeing a massive build of residential towers that are increasingly getting higher. And remember, Wapping and Limehouse are actually quite desirable areas to live in now. Wapping will see the News International Towers soon-ish, and I expect a residential tower of some height will go up in Limehouse in the next decade.

The clusters will grow closer and closer together over time.

Wapping, Stepney, Bethnal Green, , Shadwell, Limehouse, Bow, Poplar and Westferry.

A strange mix of yuppie dock-side apartments, run down council estates, historical abandoned warehouses, crime-ridden streets, ethnic diversity, cobbled roads, tiny riverside pubs and gated luxurious estates.

London at its best, so to speak.

I think Canary Wharf will look something like that in 6 years, cus most of the new towers there are approved or about to be approved and generally buildings in CW get built faster then in the City, probably cus there arn't many existing buildings to knock down. The City area is London's financial district and the centre of London really, with lots of buildings located there, so every SS there is given extra thought and consideration, plus it has many buildings that are still occuppied which take time for the tennants to evacuate. CW is away from the city centre and building SS there is relatively easy, cus the area now seems suited to them. But I think by 2012 or maybe just after, London will look something like that. And don't forget, there will be quite a few more proposals for new SS in the coming months/years, which may get built quickly!
