This used to be a wine factory, established in 1916 by Japanese stayed open until 1987 when the factory moved to Linkou and the site was abbandoned.
In 1997, after 10 years of being deserted, the factory was taken over by Cultural Affairs Department in order to provide the arts, non-profit organizations and individuals with a space to express their creativity. This year the area was expanded to form Huashan Culture Park and undergone renovation. It was reopened for exhibitions just before Christmas. they should leave the site as a park and build the stadium elsewhere. it looks like a nice complex. needs better landscaping i think - more bushes, trees and grass and outdoor sculptures.
