Impresive thread for the impresive development of Dubai.

Only one objection from a railway lover like me. I have heard that Dubai hasn't no one railway km. That's the new year will change it with the openning of the first metro railway kilometres? That's I hope.

Happy new year!

^ A Metro network stretching for more then 70 km, both undergroung and elevated, has started construction and is expected to be compleated by 2009, with a third line compleated by 2015. Also many of the huge masterplaned projects will have their own monorail.

A transemirate and even a transgulf heavy rail network is planed and is in study phase.

i still cant belive this is for just ONE city. all the projects listed seem to be like the whole of USA's projects into ONE place.

Is the madness going to continue? How big do they expect the city to grow to in the future. Cos i swear theyre making so much shit for a 15 million people city.

Beware, there is a potential that it just may be the beginnings of the worlds largest city in the future.

they do this is falcon city but this is in dubailand and therefore more or less the intention.

well the chrysler thing, it is just the roof and it is a shitty company who builds it. therefore not worthe mentioning.
we do not have a render of the big ben tower, we still hope it is kinda modern version, but a tower with a clock would be quite fascinating on SZR.
however a copy of big ben there...

Dubai Jewel is pretty nice. Though i don't know how a building that looks like the Chrysler building and Big Ben will look in Dubai though.

well it does not look like the chrysler completely and it is only in media city so it does not matter..

i am more concerned about that big ben thing.if it really will be a copy then

i hope for a modern version but i would love too see a tower with a clock on SZR.
