Because it looks to be more like a concept design entered in for a competition or something. The Sun Tower is the same, it won't be built since it was design for the sole purpose of an architectural competition.

Anyway here's a proposal posted by Chad. It's from the same guys doing Al Sharq.

Al Haaj Tower,

Entrance looks amazing but I want to see the rest of the tower to see what it looks like overall

Could be a twin to Al Sharq.

Maybe the same height.

This render is long overdue. We still don't have a clue what'll happen with this tower with the airport restrictions in the area. Will it be moved or will it not be built?

A proposal for the marina:

Nice update. Park Square is...kind of ugly. Not what I was expecting or hoping.

I really get it now when SA Boy said towers released now have way better designs. It's strange, all the new towers like 1 business bay, burj al alam, the new maritime city towers, etc seem way more mature in their designs. Can't say the same about this tower, if it was designed 5 years ago then it would have been OK .
This is probably one of a few proposals for it anyway. If built it'll definitely not be in the location shown though. My opinion is that it's a dead project, that can happen even in Dubai.

And another 2 images of that black proposal:

A supertall for this location of the marina would be great

BTW, the airport thing is to take at least 20 years to fully build so it's not just another project like the palm islands, etc but a proper plan for the future.

Richard:

- Al Sharq Tower is NOT under construction, while Al Yaqoub is.
- Ahmed Abdul Al Attar Tower has broken ground and the metal bars for the central core are some 5 meters above ground level.
- The core of Almas Tower is some 4 levels above ground.
