Last units in Block 1 of Park Island Oceanfront go on sale
SHKP Press Release
27 April 2006

Sun Hung Kai Properties announced encouraging sales at its Park Island Oceanfront resort-style residential development on Ma Wan, moving more than 50 units in the two weeks it has been on the market. The developer has decided release nearly a dozen more units in Block One to cope with demand. Two show flats with new interiors opened today (April 27) to let potential buyers experience the resort lifestyle at Park Island first hand.

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Executive Director Victor Lui and Centaline Sales Director Fred Chau announced details of the sale today.

Mr Lui said: "We have seen keen demand since we released the first units for the Easter holidays and the additional units we put on sale last week could not meet the keen demand, so we are releasing more now."

The latest units measure approximately 1,100 square feet and have three bedrooms plus a helper's room. Centaline continues to be the sole sales agent. Eligible buyers can get low-interest financing with P-2.8% interest on a 95% mortgage with no interest and no payments for the first two years. The two show flats with new interiors are in units C1 and D1 of Block One, and are open from 11:00 am and 8:00 pm.

What the heck?

I didn't even notice those buildings before the Central Library until today - fcuk me they look massive and monstrous...

By the way, are they renovating the Regal Hong Kong Hotel ... or it's top or something? There's cranes up there that I've noticed.

From a distance (on the flyover in North point), it always looks like "ESPN" but I'm sure that's not it.

New about One Island East:

2006-07-14 > New Hong Kong Supertall Under Construction

A new 70 floor office skyscraper is underway in the former British colony of Hong Kong, the One Island Estate Center. Originally planned to be a mere 36 floors, the ambitious developer Swire Properties Ltd had the development substantially jacked up in height and redesigned by architect Wong & Ouyang.
It will contain 141,000 square metres of space and 59 office floors within the form that bares more than a slight resemblance to the also under construction International Commerce Centre in Kowloon.
Like that design, it has offset glass curtain walling and four primary facades that extrude at the top. The differences between the two buildings are found mostly in the lack of tapering in the One Island design and the curving corners that reduce the bulk.
The tower will stand over a new public plaza with a vast airy entrance giving the impression that it hovers above the ground adding to the 60 restaurants and cafes already in the area.
The supertall building which is reportedly 280 metres to roofand 308 metres tall to the tip of the fašade will be the 7th building in Hong Kong over both the 300 metres and 1,000 feet marks showing the Chinese territory has lost none of its appetite for building tall.
Completition on site by contractor Gammon Construction is scheduled for March 2008.

That means there would be another 300+ in Hong Kong~
