I am the author of these photos. I'm happy you can appreciate them.
The photos are part of a larger project with about 6.000 shots.
It's the first huge work of night aerial photography in Italy. Al the photos were taken from helicopter and not drone were used.

In December we published a book "Milano vista dal cielo - Milano as seen from the sky" with 180 day and night photos. More publications has to come in 2015.
I hope you enjoyed them and if you have more questions i'll be happy to answer and publish more photos.

Yeah exactly
It's a building nicknamed Rasoio (razorblade) and it's not part of Porta Nuova project. The developer was arrested for fraudulent bankruptcy in 2012, and all the buildings he owned in Milan were bought by a bank. Construction works have stopped ever since.

Now the bank is wondering what to do with this very big amount of buildings all over Milan: most of them are low-quality stuff that would need major renovations, but there are a few very interesting buildings too. This "razorblade" is particularly hated because of it's shape: very flat, too wide and too short. This is why the city administration suggested them to demolish and replace it, but of course the choice is up to the new developer

Here are two renderings of the project, if it had been completed. (The buildings in the background of the first rendering are previous designs for the Vertical Forest and surrounding buildings)

The project looks decent, but another tower would definitively be preferred

It would have been awesome if the CityLife district was located close to Porta Nuova

There is any chance to build some new skyscrapers between Porta Nuova and Citylife to get a whole cluster?

City Life (U/C), Fiera Milano City (under design --> under redevelopment soon), Scalo Farini (abandoned area. it is indicated as new place to build skyscrapers)

they're not gonna merge into a single cluster. The whole city will rise instead.

A new treasure in Milan

Ten feet below the ground, Università Cattolica di Milano opened a new archaeological museum with permanent exhibitions: amphorae, jewelery, coins and many other items collected in twenty years of restoration works. The place was a suburban area outside the Imperial walls, inhabited since Roman era: the first settlement has been dated to around the end of the first century BC. From the third century AD, the area became a necropolis instead.

Prada museum set to open in Milan

Prada's art foundation has announced its new venue by OMA's research arm AMO will open this May, featuring a bar designed by film director Wes Anderson. Scheduled to welcome visitors on 9 May, the contemporary art museum will be located on a Milanese industrial site at Largo Isarco – south of Milan's city centre and away from the brand's headquarters.

Led by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and first revealed in 2008, AMO's design includes 11,000 square metres of exhibition space intended to "expand the repertoire of spatial typologies in which art can be exhibited and shared with the public".

Seven preexisting buildings of a 1910s former distillery will be linked by three new structures – an exhibition venue, an auditorium and a museum tower – occupying the courtyard spaces in between.

The complex will host Fondazione Prada's array of events, relating to disciplines including cinema, design, architecture, philosophy, fashion and performance.

The entrance building will connect to a children's area designed by students from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Versailles, and the bar modelled on traditional Milan cafes by director Wes Anderson – who is best known for films including The Life Aquatic and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

The foundation is being moved from its current location at Via Fogazzaro 36, which earlier this week hosted Prada's menswear show in a space designed by AMO.

Prada has an ongoing relationship with OMA that goes back 25 years. The two companies have previous collaborated on a series of store interiors, catwalk designs and exhibition spaces, including the Prada Transformer in Seoul.

Tourists can walk Milan's Galleria rooftop starting in April
Restoration to building's catwalks to total 2 mln euro

Beginning in April and just in time for the start of Expo 2015, Milan visitors will be able to walk (from 7 am to 11 pm) the city's iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II roof. The catwalks, which will undergo a two-million-euro restoration project sponsored by Seven Stars Hotel and Alessandro Rosso Group, were included in the building's plan to allow for maintenance of the arcade's vaulted glass ceiling.

The city of Milan is renting out the roof space to the hotel group until the end of 2016 for 118,000 euros a year, with part of the ticket proceeds to be donated back to the city of Milan. Public works assessor Carmela Rozza said investment in the building's restoration totals 10 million euros, between the city's investment of 5 million euros in a concurrent restoration project, with an additional 3 million provided by corporate sponsorship from Prada, Versace and Feltrinelli, and the 2 million that Seven Stars Hotel will contribute to restore the roof's walkways.
