At the moment we don't have info. The 'in progettazione' and 'spazio verde temporeneo' areas are still under design, but I think some towers will be built there, replacing canceled projects like:

Torre Arduino / Park Tower (106 m, residential use, design by Daniel Libeskind)

Torre Duilio (130 m, office use, design by Pier Paolo Maggiora)

While more Libeskind luxury residences will be built on the 'campo pratica golf temporaneo' area.

Building in Corso Buenos Aires
Milan | Zone 3

A fund advised by real estate investment manager Meyer Bergman has acquired four vacant buildings with prime corner frontage onto fashion capital Milan's longest shopping street, Corso Buenos Aires, which it plan to redevelop. The terms of the purchase are not being disclosed.

Paulo Sarmento, Principal at Meyer Bergam, said: "This investment fits perfectly with the fund's strategy of targeting High Street properties in the main retail destinations of Europe's major cities. Offering an extensive facade on Corso Buenos Aires, this is a tremendous redevelopment opportunity, since large retail units are in such short supply on this major shopping street".

The properties acquired by the fund are: 59 Corso Buenos Aires, and 2,4,6 Via Petrella. The block of four buildings comprises a total surface of 26,000 sqm.

MilanoSesto Mall, Square, Park
Sesto San Giovanni | Milan urban area

design: Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Design International
status: U/C soon
see more info/pics > official thread

The retail element of Milanosesto is split into three parts: the Sesto Square; the Sesto Park; and the Sesto Mall. The Sesto Square, the Sesto Park and the Sesto Mall are the main pillars of the retail aspect of the scheme.

With other aspects such as a luxury hotel, offices and residential spilling into the area, the retail forms a perfect triangle, making way for the abundance of greenery to spill into the space.

The retail scheme makes use of the existing structures and also expands on it, adding new layers to the existing structures. There will be a main street linking the residential part of the scheme with the retail part, as well as a mono rail which will take people from Sesto San Giovanni tube station directly to the Sesto Mall. One of the unique aspects of this design in the car parking space. Not only is there outside car parking and also under the Sesto Mall, but there is also car parking on the top level overlooking the two floor of retail underneath. From parking the car on the top level, guests will be able to view the shopping centre from a balcony and enjoy the natural light from above and around.

The retail element of Milanosesto is unique by not only maintaining the original structure of the old steelworks, but also maximises on the beautiful surroundings of the nearby park.

From all three retail areas, users will feel the connection with nature as it floods through the design. Not only does the design allow for excellent views of the park due to the extensive use of glass and natural light from the Sesto Mall, but also the greenery is brought in to the retail area, with trees and greenery in abundance.

The overall masterplan for Milanosesto features 10,000 trees of 50 different species, covering more than 700,000 sqm of green area. The retail element will draw this in, with greenery on every level, as well as breathtaking views.

The Sesto Square sits in front of the main Sesto Mall and is unique in itself as it features old pillars which were used in the days when the location was an industrial centre. This feature is to remain intact, with a viewing platform from where visitors can admire the pillars. Bordering the Sesto Square to one side will be offices, as well as retail spaces. On the other side of the Sesto Square will be a space for events of all kinds. There will be opportunities for concerts, as well as smaller community gatherings and markets.

The Sesto Park is located next to the Sesto Square, and allows direct interaction and easy accessibility to the main green space. It will feature unique elements such as a picnic area, a place for sports and children’s activities, as well as being populated with beautiful art work and sculptures. The concept behind this area of Milanosesto is that it will be a true meeting place for all of the family and house many activities for all to be involved.

The Sesto Mall, and the main feature of the retail element of Milanosesto, is to expand on the existing structure which was an old steel mill. The extended design will replicate the original structure thus enhancing the true ‘soul’ of the project.

The Sesto Mall will house 3 levels of retail with main anchor stores at each end. There will also be underground parking, as well as parking on the roof. Guests will be able to look down from the parking on the roof to the shopping below via a balcony in the centre. The mall will also have a hypermarket and various food and beverage outlets.

The Sesto Mall will focus on creating a fresh indoor atmosphere with the use of glass to allow plenty of natural light into the space and create an effortless natural flow from outside to inside.

Green initiatives are being achieved through detailed, measurable and longterm programs. Sustainable operations reduce operating costs, earn tenant loyalty and provide a healthier working environment for all.

The program itself focuses on five environmental pillars:
1. Energy: A key focus is on Energy Conservation and Efficiency and the incorporation of renewable energy sources, with a long term goal of net-zero emissions from buildings.
2. Waste Management: The aim is to generate zero waste by implementing a consistent and dedicated approach to waste diversion and waste minimization.
3. Environmental Protection: Eliminate adverse impacts wherever activities, products and services interact with the environment, while ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
4. Sustainable Procurement: utilize environmentally-friendly products, services and best management practices.
5. Communication: A comprehensive Green Communication Plan should be designed to inform, engage, educate and share green best practices with employees and tenants so that we can work together to make a difference.

DOSSIER: The new canal to link Milan with the Adriatic Sea

This 1.7 billion euros project is the new great challenge of Milan: it is conceived to link the city to the Adriatic Sea, creating a new canal between the fashion capital city to Cremona.

In red, the new canal between east Milan and Cremona

The first idea dates back more than a century ago; the project is almost ready. The "water highway" is about 65 kilometers long, it will allow the passage of ships up to 110 meters long and 11 wide, with cargo from 1,600 to 3,000 tons. The river port will be built in east Milan, at the intersection between the BreBeMi (Brescia-Bergamo-Milan Highway) and the new East Ring-Road, where also it crosses the national high-speed railway network. The waterfalls included in the canal will be able to produce electricity.

Milan’s Fruit Wholesale Market is one of the biggest in Italy. Currently there is the need for a renovation plan, aiming to reposition its facilities, services and, at a broader sense, its role at international level.

DOSSIER: Risanamento to sell office complex hosting broadcaster SKY by year-end

The sale of the three SKY towers in the Milan -Santa Giulia area by real estate company Risanamento is getting close. The board of directors chose the advisors for the operation, which are Banca Leonardo and CBRE. The goal is to sell the three buildings occupied by Sky - the broadcaster pays €16 million a year for the lease - in a call for bids by the end of the year. The board, which approved the budget, also discussed the guidelines of the future strategy of the company, which will continue to focus on development but will no longer be a property company.

The aim of the sale is to raise cash and start with the construction of two buildings, always in the southern area of Santa Giulia, for a total of over 34,000 square meters to be developed, and that could be the subject of a “build to suit “ project, or buildings commissioned from the future tenant. Several expressions of interest, according to market sources, have come to this end.
