The Petronas Towers are overrated and yet the Sears Tower is not? Architecturally they're far more impressive than Sears.

People tend to like buildings in their countries, so they wont say that the buildings in their country are overrated.

The gherkin is no way overrated. The energy saving methods are brilliant and only a handful of buildings of a similar size create such an eco-friendly impact as it. I can only think of two off the top of my head and one was designed by the gherkin's architect - Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt. The other tower being Conde Nast Building in NY Times Square.

If you ask me, the Flatiron is overated. That thing was never even the tallest in the world and is only famous because of how thin it is. That is no engineering feat at all apart from being one of the first buildings to use a steel skeleton.

That looks great if you ask me. Just make sure that those bits of glass sticking from the top dont whistle in the wind. People from Manchester will know what I'm talking about for sure.

It only becomes a problem if you are filming Coronation Street episodes outdoors on Monday afternoons!

Sears tower bores the daylights out of me.

I also have a hard time thinking how swiss-re is overrated, it was an original concept and the design is timeless and tasteful IMO.

I dont know how anyone can say the Twin Towers were not impessive. They impressed the hell out of me and I never saw them in person. The sheer size of something so plain looking is incredible. And as a matter of fact, the building isnt plain up close. And photos of them at night are simply spectacular. I would even say they looked the absolute best at night for a skyscraper. They didnt need all kinds of neon lighting.
