Yeah, it really is difficult to emulate these types of projects outside NCR.

I wish Metro Manila to have more iconic towers in it's pipeline of future projects. It already has a massive and extensive skyline it only lacks some unique supertalls that would stand out in terms of both height and aesthetics.

There are lots of wide spaces available east of EDSA between Pioneer and Shaw. It is currently occupied by nondescript bodegas. It's a nice spot to put a real tall one. And it is at the very center of the triangle of Ortigas, Global City and Ayala.

Anybody here believe that these new high rise apartment buildings serve as a solution for the slums? Or will it just be for the wealthy?

no, most of the buildings here are not gov't projects... even if they made govt high-rises its not a long term solution..
(i dont know whats a bigger eyesore one-story slum or high-rise slums like in other countries)
the govt just need to provide better opportunities in other areas of the country besides the major cities, so people doesnt have to move & abandon their original land, then ending up squatting in the city.

I don't think, I'll do that. I'm sure I could try my feet in the shoes of other people, but my whole self won't surely fit inside a shoe .
