Fark, we made a tougher job of that than we should of. I hate it when we play with Kennedy up front. Despite him scoring a goal (tap in), we always try & lob the long ball in looking for the header. Too predictable. Hopefully we start without him for the Saudi game, have Kruse & Cahill up front.

![]() I still have faith in Holger. I have seen what we are capable of under him but I think he made a few wrong selections for the team tonight though. I think McKay is wasted at LB, he needs to be in the midfield somewhere & maybe put Zullo in at LB. Kilkenny was pretty average tonight, i'd Rhys Williams in at central mid. And I touched on it earlier, no Kennedy please! |

The good news out of last night was that Oman & Saudi Arabia drew 0-0 leaving us on top of the group despite the poor showing. Now the Socceroos are off to Saudi for the next game in a few days. Gonna be a tough one in the heat over there.

We're playing Saudi Arabia in Damman in the morning, 3:30am EST. Hoping for an improved showing this time around. Saudi Arabia were less than impressive against Oman in their opening game.
FWIW, Thailand are currently leading Oman 2-0 @ HT in Bangkok. |

Well, we won 3-1.
That's much better!

Yeah, much better showing this time. We pretty much controlled the match apart from a 10 minute spell in the second half after the Saudi goal. Holman continues to improve and was probably man of the match IMO. Zullo was also very good (penalty aside), he was strong in defence and dangerous going forward. It was good to see us playing the ball on the ground this time. There was not alot of long crosses at all.

If he is injured why bother putting him on at all? is he simply way out of form? |

As far as the substitution is concerned, one of the Saudis made a horrible challenge on Holman & he pulled up sore from that. He's lucky to not be seriously injured actually. So Cahill was brought on, plus it helped wind down the clock a bit. |

Another comfortable win for the Socceroos tonight. 3-0 over Oman, that makes us on the verge of qualification to the 4th round now.
Goals were from Holman, Kennedy & Jedinak. Another good performance by Holman who continues to grow in stature. Even if we see little glimpses of the old Holman in his shooting every now & then. Haha |

Socceroos playing again tonight! Playing Oman in Muscat. If we win this one, we can secure qualification to the WCQ 4th round.

Yup. Reminding me of the Thailand game. Too many long balls.

Long balls, slow build up. Kennedy is a shit marksman because he doesn't score goals to put it bluntly.

It will be interesting to see the team that takes the pitch on Tuesday. I wouldn't want to leave qualification until we play the Saudi's in Sydney.
Also, I'm not sure Kewell and Emerton are the players they used to be. |
