Early Croatian Churches

There are many little churches on the coastal part of Croatia which where built at the very beginning of croatian history. These churches belong to the preromanesque period but they also possess a unique characteristic to this region therefore the style is called "early croatian".

Sv. Kriz in Nin 9th century

Sv. Nikola between Nin and Zaton

Sv. Donat Zadar 9th century

Sv. Petar Omis

Sv. Trojica Split

Sv Pelegrin Dugi Otok

Sv. Ivan Lopud

Sv. Juraj Rovanjska

sv. mihajlo Ston

Sv. Spas Knin

Those churches release much more spirituality and intimity than arrogant neo-gothic cathedrals. I like modest architecture.

There are much more churches like these especially in Dalmatia, but it's extremely hard to find information and pictures
