Great shot of the suspended plumbing system, this is what i do...!!, Chicago is one of the few citys that still joins hub waste systems with lead and oakum, it's a lost art out here in Los Angeles, but for the very few who can still do it, (like myself...!!!!)

My kind of town

What a handsome and fine building! I can't wait until it's finished. Another trophy for the magnificent city of Chicago.

Thanks to harryc and wrabbit for the photo updates. It's fun to check in and watch the progress being made!

Those holes are cast into the concrete. Same thing with the conduit piping for electrical and communications services.

I have a question. How will they put the luffing crane down when it gets top out? They put luffing crane inside the building which made it complicated to put it down after top out.

Once the floors change to the triangular configuration, the luffing crane will on the outside of the building.

For more info on putting up and taking down cranes the Burj Dubai thread had some very detailed schedules and plans a few months back.

In short the cranes are disassembled and the pieces lowered by a smaller crane.

1 WTC (NYC), 155 N Wacker, and 353 N Clark (soon) have much larger cranes ( diesel ) with some really big pieces.
