If they think that propaganda will stop the tower's construction, boy are they naive

Glad to see it's back on track!

They aren't trying to stop the tower - they are trying to unionize the workers. This was more aimed at workers currently downtown than at the ones who will be working there later.

I wish I had time to go out and protest. I have a job to go to.

Anyway, it's good to see someone is working on part of the tower.

Then they REALLY don't know what they're talking about. The hotel workers union (SEIU) is one of the most powerful in the city. There's no way the hotel would open without union labor. I bet there isn't a hotel in the state (since in Illinois not everyone has the right to work) that isn't unionized.

true, construction of this tower is totally independant of the hotel workers union.
with 65% of the units sold, it should be crazy not to complete the buidling.

I love this angle because it so emphasizes the verticality of the tower. I can't wait for this baby to pierce the skyline.

In addition, major construction has temporary temporarily stopped on the Waterview Tower, a planned 90-story hotel-condominium skyscraper. After a search of at least two years, the project’s developers and designers, Chicago-based Teng, announced last month that they had secured $340 million in construction financing that will allow the skyscraper to be finished by mid-2010. Major construction is to resume in July, a Teng spokesman said.

Me too, I really like it. It would be really a shame if it would end up under 319m or with some worse design...
