Some of the museums in Singapore

the buildings posted here depict the architecture of the colonial era.

National Museum

Built in 1887, it is going to re-open this year after a recent renovation.

Art Museum

It was formerly a Catholic boys' school, hence the original name engraved on the building.

German History Museum in Berlin
The Zeughaus (old arsenal) of Berlin, is the oldest structure on the Unter den Linden. It was erected between 1695 and 1706 in the Baroque style. Today the Zeughaus is the site of the DHM (Museum of German History). The Modern part of the DHM was designed by star architect Ieoh Ming Pei.

In 1891 two identical museums were opened in Vienna:

Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art Museum)

Naturhistorisches Museum (Museum of Natural history)

They look identical and face each other, so the only way not to mix them up is to look at the statues on top of the museums. On the KHM it is dressed, on the NHM nude.

Only a few years back, the Museumsquartier Wien (museum quarter) was opened. (or rather re-opened) It is mainly an old imperial stable which was enlarged and enhanced with pieces of contemporary architecture. It consists of two year-round museums (Leopold Museum, MUMOK) which feature modern and classical art, changing exhibitions in the Kunsthalle, music, drama and dance in the halls E&G.

But most of all it is a great chill-out spot with arty restaurants and a modern atmosphere.

Technisches Museum (Musteum of Technology)

This one is actually quite far from the center and very close to where I live.

Haus der Musik (house of music, sound experiments)

Vienna also has hundreds of smaller museums, some of them really unique, like the puppet museum, the Esperanto museum, the papyrus museum and so on and of course several collections like the crown jewels and other important stuff.
