I love that one as well! The interesting fact is that you never know where you will driving up (or down) for they always change it according to the traffic. Driving it the first time I really felt like in the Leventina

Yep.. Pakistan does have some amazing landscape. This one runs from near the commercial city of Karachi to the New under construction port of Gwadar. Its some 600-700 kms in length, mostly along the coastal line hence the name "Makran Coastal highway".

Another one, again not the best in terms of quality, is the Karakoram highway that that starts near islamabad upto the chinese border..some 800 kms, all along the Great Himalayas and the Karakoram ranges. I'll post a pic as soon as i find one.

Springfield Interchange

This maybe one of the biggest interchange in Northeastern United States or probably the biggest but the construction is not over yet.

I don't have aerial links handy, but a few very sprawled-out and/or over-complex interchanges that I know of include:

- I-96/275/296/M-5 in northwest suburban Detroit, MI;
- I-88/355 in west suburban Chicagoland;
- I-95/295/495/US 202/DE 141 near Wilmington, DE;
- (the mess surrounding EWR airport), Newark, NJ; and
- (the mass of roadways surrounding the Pentagon), Arlington, VA.

One way to put a number on the bigness of an interchange is by counting the points at which traffic diverges or converges. A standard four-loop or four-level stack interchange has sixteen. Long ago, I read that the interchange complex at the Newark airport had 166, making it the world's most complex interchange at the time.

It's my dream to drive on the I-110/I-105 interchange someday.

I have a relative in Los Angeles, but he lives nowhere near it.

if the car/resident figure nears US or EU standart in Shanghai or the whole of China, they`ll have to add some 10+ lanes to that interchanges.......

The top one is interesting, it show the Shanghai Maglev crossing the interchange...

What's the status of that Serbian highway from Beograd to Subotica? Is it a real motorway, or more some expressway with grade junctions? Is it connected to the Hungarian Autopalya to Szeged?

^ It's like on my last post (2-lane expressway) from the border to Novi Sad, soon after Novi Sad it turns into motorway and lasts to Belgrade (except for the bridge over the Danube, and just before Belgrade it becomes some "strange" 4-lane road). Here.

Boston's Big Dig

The Most Expensive Public Project in U.S. History and its not over yet. A staggering cost of 14.6 billion US dollars (and climbing). It is the first freeway system that uses the underground to build a vast, complex tunnel systems that connect the city from Northern Boston, Downtown, South Boston and the Boston Logan Airport (almost the whole city). Currently, the tunnels are suffering some water leakages and engineers are investigating those problems. This is the first of its kind and experts think that if this one will be successful, then this will be the future and the solution of many large, congested cities like New York, Washington DC, Paris and London.

These are the only images I can find but there are more better images than these. This is the world's first complex underground freeway so I considered it "The Best".
