This one has been published recently on one guys blog. I think it's new. But it's not official. Especially that Murphy/Jahn the architects have never been replaced officially and they have still THIS render on their page.

I believe the new redesigned version (the one with sphere) is what will be build but there simply isn't any prove other than this blog input. So if you think it's enough then you can post it on the first page.

Firms with experience in high rise building projects are being invited to enter the pre-qualification stage for the construction of the Doha Convention Centre Tower.

The project is managed and developed by Lusail Real Estate Development Company on behalf of owner Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company. DCCT consists of a 122 storey building with an approximate gross built up area of 219,000 square meters above ground and 110,000 square meters below ground gross built up area for parking facilities.

It rises from a 55m x 55m base at the ground floor with the four sides of 552m high shear glass facades sloping gently inward. The Tower consists of a 400 meters tall concrete structure plus a 150 meters steel helix structure sheathed in a glass facade.
this was also in the local newspaper. pre-qualification stage ends in December. we should see some activity next year..

DCCT = Doha convention center tower. the title should be changed and number of floors 122

i sent a request for the title change. i really cannot wait to see construction continue, and it is amazing that we will see this thing simply rise then, since it is already above ground

Sorry, the only truth to that article is the height figure, according to a colleague who is working on the project.

They haven't resumed construction on the tower yet and there is no way that it will complete by 2015, even if they start in the next few months. That news article was full of crap.

Another member already posted similar news but that's from another source posted on 3 december!

Qatar Diar has announced that construction of the Doha Convention Center Tower (DCCT) has resumed after much delay.

DCCT is a 551m (1,808 ft) tall skyscraper with over 100 storeys located in the West Bay area.

Construction had been suspended following the discovery that the building would impact flight paths to and from Doha International Airport.

However, work has now restarted after the New Doha International Airport was completed on reclaimed land approximately 3km to the east of the current airport.
