Not only that but it's an approved project in Manchester, so there wouldn't be any planning issues.

Eastgate is...

1)Fully approved to be built.
2)The site is clear, ready for it to be built.
3)Expected to start construction later this year and be finished in 2008/2009.

They're currently looking for tennants and such like. It is 90% certain to be built.

Oh and it's also known as the "Inacity" tower, as they're building it. Eastgate is the overall development.

I really can't wait to see this on Manchester's skyline. I don't like the podium at the bottom but it's going to have a really big impression on the skyline, and hopefully the cladding will be done well.

The top rendering is great! How often do you ever see a computer image of a new building that isn't in glorious sunshine or the soft pink glow of sunset? The pic makes it look like the Darth Vader of skyscrapers.

I like the Eastgate Tower but it seems a bit stuck out on its own, as are some of the other proposals for Manchester.

I think a more 'centralised' skyline would look better.

I'd like to see that too but I remember one Manc forumer saying that the proposals could result in a ring of skyscrapers around the city centre.
