the democrats will boycott the snap election because they afraid to lose and wanna have the power without re-election, is that call fair?? they just wanna get into power without hearing what the people want. Chuan leekpai said in the newspaper today that he dont want re-election he wants people to continue protest haha what a joke.

Look at Korea and how many protests they have! Does it tell you anything?
Khun Kuanteen, I think you misunderstood what I said. I'm not taking sides.
Perhaps I shouldn't have used such emotional word as 'unite'. How about 'consensus'. I'm just expressing concerns about reports that the mega projects wont be implemented (see Ray's post the one before me). I think there should be a bipartisan approach to see some of the mega projects through. Every moment we delay to make important decisions, the more opportunity we lost to make things happen, the more we're lagging behind other countries.

And let's it be clear I'm in support of democracy as well as development of the country. We need good governance in order to implement good policies.
I'm all for protesting but I think 100,000 people shouldn't drown the voice of the silent majority. If this guy Sondhi, wants to form a political party, let him and then let the people decide in election.
He is holding up democracy hostage by being vague about his own agendas. What solutions does he offered to help Thailand once Taksin is gone? any suggestion.
Just because Sondhi is anti government doesn't make him, by proxy, the champion of democracy. He may be the champion of free speech, but in a democracy every voices are equal.

And no, Korean protests doesn't tell me anything. Everytime they managed to toppled each government they found a new leader who were as corrupted as the previous one. The same could be said about current situation in the Phillipines.
This only tell me that people are easily deceived, either that they have bipolar disorder. Form and appearance meant everything to most people. People need to be clear in their heads what issues are important to them and then form they own judgement.

then remind me of chuan leekpai and IMF, remind me of all the drug problems that Thailand faced during the democrat leadingship.Today, Thailands drug problems has improved a lot. Thailand was in hell between 1996-2001. Thailand today has improved a lot from that time.
After 1997 you say?? Chavalit took over after the economic crisis began and then chuan took over after him because chavalit was terrible. Chuan didnt do much either and as I said he had to take IMF loan to save Thailand from bankrupcy. Now Thailand is doing well as I said 100 times with Thaksin in charge but some brainwashed people wanna take him out because they cant sell their somtam in their area or whatever their problem is.

Thaksin is the best thing that Thailand ever has. Unfortunately, the social conduct and ideas of many Thai people are pretty much third world. Many of Thai people are comparable to social conduct in Africa. People are lack of international business and the developed world view (even if they are educated abroad). Thaksin is a first world leader who rules the third world nation. For example, it is tough for Tony Blair to rule Ghana since people there are babarian and uncivilized. The same truth is for Thaksin. He's best leader Thailand or Asia ever has, and now all the loser want him out. I'm sad for Thailand. Have you ever notice that people who are anti-Thaksin are pretty much a loser. For example, Sondhi's business is collapse and bankrupt. Jumlong is a old conservative man who never embrace a change and modernize himself. He never wear anything except that blue shirt. He should go back to Burma and live with tribal people in the mountain.

My points. Thaksin is best thing Thailand has ever has. We are envied by other developing countries to have such a capable, agressive, smart, sharp, and wise leader. He's the only hope for Thailand to become modernize and rise as global power. If he continues to be our prime minister, we will be the next S. Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, and Singapore.

If he is not, we will go backward and become Phillipines and Vietnam. I will never live in Thailand for a very long time. I'll invest my money in Malaysia, Singapore, and Eastern Europe.

I hope the best for our country, Thailand.

I know you weren't taking sides. I was sarcastic. I'm not on Sonthi's side either, let's be clear on that. I just hate Thaksin as much as "ILoveThaksin" loves Thaksin.

What I'm saying when I mention Korea is that look, with the amount of dissent they have, they should, as you doom merchants predict, be in a state of disarray. By now Korea should be a backwards, infighting country because of the dissent.

But no, Korea is not that. Therefore, your point is invalid.

Me: Here you go, a mirror.
ILoveThaksin: Thi..this...this can't be true??!?! It can't be! I'm not a 2 year old stuck in the body of a 1 year old! No.....!!! But hey, I'm a first world baby.....
Me: Sadly it is true, you are infantile. Hey, no worries though, since you can type which is an amazing feat for a 2 year--I mean 1 year old, I'm sure you'll be making lots of money.....lots of money.

It's sad to see that personal attacks are replacing arguments now.

Maybe the thread could be locked for a week or so, and reopened later?

Tell the new member, what's his name, oh, ILoveThaksin. And find his other alias while you're at it, I'll bet its Rayman in disguise.

I would be greatly appreciate if you could please stop using personal attacks. Please follow the forum rules and be civilize. Thank you for showing the typical behavior of the anti-Thaksin fellows but may I suggest using real evident, concrete examples, data, laws, and etcs to back up your points rather personal attack.

P.S. Please respect others. I'm not Rayman. However, I have been here all the time for the past 2 years but never post any messages. I have been reading threads in the this forum and highly appreciated Rayman's comments and ideas in general (as well as Chad's). I think if we have more individual like Chad and Rayman (and a few other folks in this forum), Thailand would have a bright future.

Cheers
