And since the light system uses smaller trains the track does not have to be so deep and because of the smaller size of trains in light system the station size can be smaller.
Pretty easily..M3 was built in 5 phases.
Deák F. tér - Nagyvárad tér 1976. 12. 31.
Nagyvárad tér - Kőbánya-Kispest 1980. 03. 29.
Deák F. tér - Lehel tér 1981. 12. 30.
Lehel tér - Árpád híd 1984. 11. 05.
Árpád híd - Újpest-Központ 1990. 12. 14.

Stations on the map, that are not so deep, are at max 10m under the ground, but the others, the "heavy" part, are 20-28m deep. Light means it only needs mining methods to build, while heavy needs TBM.
We are not talking about light rail or heavy rail, but heavy metro and light metro.Metro is light rail.
(I'm not sure if M3 used TBM,but for the depth,I'd assume there was a TBM)

The M3 is definitely heavy metro, it has the same trainsets as the line M2, what's more the trains on line 3 consist of 3 cars while on line 2 only 5 cars as far as I know

"
Heavy metro is the likes of Paris, Lyon, & Marseille systems.

Light metro is VAL (Toulouse, Lille, Rennes, Orly, CDG)."

BTW,M3 has 6 cars,M2 only 5.
so yes,M3 is heavy..sorry.

Headshottt, great, amazing collection. Looks like its almost finished. I know about metroweb.cz but they have not updated their pictures for a while, so its great to see this. All stations look great, I am quite happy!

RawLee, they dont update as often as I would like either, but it would be great to see more images of Budapest metro.

I suppose thats a structure that carries various cables, which come out of the tunnel.Where else could they place them?

It could be temporary structure. Its hard to tell, I considered it almost like a structure for painters of the roof. But who knows. Let us see, if its left open like this it will not look good. I would presume the cables are built into walls. Maybe its structure for the lights? Any other thoughts? The whole structure is still being built so I doubt it will be left like this.

----------------------------------

Here is the map of Line A extension from Dejvicka to the Ruzyne Airport. (discussed in detailed above)

It includes all the planned extension phases. The first half should be done in 2013. It depends on money if it will be done all the way to Motol or the first part will end in Petriny station. The final phase is planned for completion in 2018.

For sake of discussion here are two similar photos, two month apart.

August 2007

So yes I think its temporary structure they used to paint or construct the red parts.

But these two renderings shows it clearly, I'm afraid I think this structure has some maintenance meaning...

I like that the ground stations are also fully covered, they are put in huge "halls", not the way here like M2 Pillangó u. or Örs Vezér tere, which are open and rain/snow falls in
